Wenge [Millettia laurentii] is a beautiful, distinctively figured, dark-colored wood from Central Africa It is highly prized in many forms of woodworking. This vase form has two inlaid brass rings. Maidou Burl from Vietnam is one of the rarest and most beautiful of the world’s burl woods. It has a beautiful gold color and striking figure. African Blackwood, a member of the Rosewood family, is the premier detail wood available to woodturners. Combining these woods is technically very challenging but yields a wonderful display vessel.
All proceeds from all sales of woodturnings support famine relief in Darfur and provision of assistance to women and girls victimized by genocidal sexual violence
