This vessel has been turned from three of the premier woods available to woodturners. The base from Canarywood, a tropical American hardwood; Maidou Burl from Vietnam; and Kingwood, a tropical American member of the Rosewood family (Dalbergia).
The three woods form a beautiful symphony of color, texture, and figure. Considerable skill and patience are required if the final product is to be without flaw—in the shaping, gluing, the sanding, and finishing. I’m particularly pleased with this piece.
