This twig vase was turned from a superb blank of Claro Walnut Burl from Oregon, with fine, dramatic figure and wonderful color. It has a flash of powdered copper in a small bark enclusion. Finely sanded and sealed; after sealing, Danish oil was rubbed into the wood, followed by hand rubbing with a combination of carnauba and beeswax in a light solvent. This finish has a very light and transparent quality.
