Sometimes the Buckeye Burl I obtain is too thin to turn, An ideal solution is to create a display form. This display piece was turned from a gorgeous slice of a piece of Buckeye, known for its spectacular color and patterning. The piece was finely sanded and sealed; after sealing, Danish oil was rubbed into the wood, followed by hand-rubbing with a combination of carnauba and beeswax in a light solvent. It has been mounted on an oak base, and offers viewing pleasure whether looking at the front or the back!
