This display bowl has been turned from a highly prized form of African Mahogany, Sapele. It is a gorgeous turning wood, with beautiful soft golden brown color and subtle figure. It is made especially beautiful by an outstanding iridescence, or more accurately, chatoyance, a beautiful optical reflection found in certain gemstones and woods.
