This bud vase has been turned from “Mexican Rosewood” (Bocote) [Cordia alliodora], a ttropical American hardwood with a medium coarse, very dramatic grain pattern. The wood can also be spectacularly colorful. The wood is dense and heavy, as are many tropical American woods. It takes a very fine finish.
