Suspended hollow form turned from Figure Myrtle, with Snakewood finial and base (includes suspending stand)

September 29, 2021

This elegant hollow form of California Figured Myrtle is set off by two finials of Snakewood, one of the most beautiful, heavy, and subtly figured of all the tropical American hardwoods. Its figure is mottled yellow, brown, and black and does indeed look like the skin of snake! Myrtle, especially when figured, is a first-rate turning wood and lends itself to hollow form turning and being combined with contrasting woods.

Dimensions (including the stand): 10" high x. 5" dia. (the turning itself is 7" h. x. 3" dia)
