This round lidded box has been turned from three beautiful woods: Canarywood from tropical America, Maidou Burl from Vietnam, and Cocobolo Rosewood, also from tropical America. Canarywood, as its name implies, is a colorful turning wood from and has a wide range of reds and yellows. It is an ideal turning wood and takes a great finish. Cocobolo is sometimes called "Queen of the Rosewoods" (family Dalbergia) and also take a fine finish. Maidou Burl is exceedingly difficult to find and purchase; the lid here is a leftover piece from an earlier turning. It has fantastic figure and color.
