Hollow form turned from Claro Walnut, with fixed finial lid of African Blackwood
November 7, 2020
This hollow form has been turned from Claro Walnut, a highly figured and more deeply colored wood than the Walnut we are familiar with from furniture-making. The vessel is crowned with a fixed finial lid of African Blackwood, mounted on a small piece of Maidou Burl (Vietnam). I'm particularly pleased with the profile of this piece.
