Hollow form turned from Claro Walnut

Hollow form turning is one of the most demanding techniques in woodturning. The hole through which the form has been hollowed is just 0.5 inches. This form has been turned from Claro Walnut, which comes primarily from Oregon. It is a distinctive sub-species of one of the pre-eminent hardwoods of North America. Claro has richer, deeper, and more varied colors and typically much more figure—swirls, iridescence, even burly qualities. It is a difficult wood to sand properly,
