Enclosed form turned from Claro Walnut

May 24, 2021

This enclosed form has been turned from Claro Walnut, a distinctive sub-species of the common Walnut [Juglans nigra] we typically see in furniture. Claro Walnut—of which this is a superb example—is typically much more highly figured, with a beautiful, richly colored wood that works well with other woods and by itself. I'm particularly pleased with the profile of this turning and the evenness of the thin walls of the enclosed form.
